Soothe Your Way into a Self-Care Bath

Isabelle Marsh

We don’t have to limit our self-care to just Sunday’s. A warm bath should be an every other day occasion. Baths can ease relaxation. Science has proven a linkage between emotion and smell so adding smells to your weekly or nightly bath can help alleviate built-up emotions and help release those you are ready to let go of.

Because certain smells trigger specific emotions, find the scents that make you feel at peace and use those (if it is not harmful to your skin).

Reap the benefits of a warm bath and add visual appeal for the most soothing self-care bath.

Feel the benefits from the inside out

Prevent muscle aches: warm water can reduce soreness and tighten muscles. What’s the perfect method? Bring a small rubber ball into the bath with you and trap it under your body. This applies pressure to aching muscles.

Ease digestion: just like you may drink warm water or tea in the morning to help your morning digestion, a warm bath can have similar effects.

Promote relaxation: a nice warm bath at the end of the day does wonder for your mental state.

Herbs and essential oils to try
